We’re not star-hunting here, and, full transparency, my editor and I have had a bit of a to-do about whether it's truly a restaurant worth spending a few hours on the M1 for. And yes, that’s quite an extreme service check, but if they can pass something like that with flying colours, you suspect that you can probably relax about the other more mundane stuff. As ever, though, with the places I love, it’s not just about the food. And then there’s the restaurant page itself, warning that they only take reservations for groups of 10 or more. The cheese soufflé is light, it’s fluffy and rises like an actual bloody soufflé from a proper restaurant. But then the food arrives, and everything is right with the world once more.
